HAIR CARE & STYLING TIPS

  • YES, you can flat iron, blow dry, wand curl this hair, and more! All of our hair is 100% human hair, meaning you can use heat and style it like you do with your natural hair.  
  • We recommend 3-4 bundles for a full head. (4 bundles for 24" and longer)
  • Feel free to dye and bleach this hair, but please remember to keep it moisturized if you do so! We recommend going to a professional hairstylist to bleach or color hair. (Do not bleach 613 or pre-colored hair)
  • 613 Hair is fragile since it's bleached blonde – due to the fragility of this texture, it may shed easily without proper care. Please be gentle on your wig and wash it regularly!
  • All pre-colored hair and custom wigs are dyed with semi-permanent hair dye, this means that colors may fade over time and some color may bleed while washing the hair.
  • To prevent build up, we recommend washing hair every 1-2 weeks and using light amounts of product. Care for this hair as you would own and be sure to keep it moisturized for maximum health.
  • All of our textures can be straightened or curled but we do NOT recommend using heat over 350F degrees; Human hair can burn too!
  • ALWAYS use heat protectant spray when using heat on your natural hair and wigs/bundles. Frequent heat styling may damage the hair and loosen curl/wave patterns over time. 
  • When bleaching knots, please be careful not to leave on the bleach too long. If you leave bleach on the knots too long, it will lead to excessive shedding. Pre-Plucked wigs and closures/frontals have small knots and require shorter bleach processing time.
  • We recommend sealing bundle wefts (especially after cutting) to minimize shedding.
  • Our hair will last 2+ years with proper maintenance.

 

PLEASE REMEMBER:

  • MUSE hair extensions are measured by the length of the hair when it is stretched-- curly hair patterns will experience shrinkage just like natural hair.

  • Lace frontals, wigs, and closures should be carefully applied-- if the lace becomes ripped, you may experience unnecessary shedding. 

  • The hairlines on MUSE wigs have single-tied knots; this makes the knots very small & gives our wigs an extremely realistic look. However, single-tied knots are delicate, please handle with care!

 

CURLY HAIR CARE & TIPS:

  • MOISTURIZE curly hair regularly.
  • Minimal products are needed for styling; when using leave-in conditioners, make sure to wash thoroughly after a few days. A smoothing or moisturizing shampoo and conditioner is highly recommended.
  • ONLY detangle curly hair when it is WET! When detangling, always use a wide-tooth comb or Denman brush. Brushing dry hair leads to breakage, just like with your natural hair.
  • Curly and some wavy textures will seem coily straight from the package. To create beautifully consistent curly/coily/wavy textures, our virgin hair is steamed during manufacturing. Bring out the true texture of the hair by simply brushing out the curls (while the hair is wet).
  • Any fragrance is from shampoo/conditioner during the manufacturing process; washing and conditioning the hair will remove any fragrance.

613 HAIR CARE TIPS:

Please see above for full haircare tips. Do NOT bleach 613 hair as it is already professionally bleached; further bleaching will damage the hair. Additional tips for 613 include:

  • Our 613 hair is the perfect base for any color. Dye it bold or tone it for the perfect blonde look. 
  • Do not bleach 613 or pre-colored hair. 613 Hair is fragile since it's bleached blonde – due to the fragility of this texture, it may shed easily without proper care.
  • Please be gentle on your wig and wash it regularly! 613 hair is fragile and needs to be moisturized with low manipulation to stay healthy.
  • Since 613 bleached hair is fragile, we recommend low-manipulation styles to get maximum use from your wig. Be sure to carefully detangle 613 hair, since bleached hair is more fragile than 1B hair, it is more prone to breakage.
  • We recommend using restorative hair masks 1-2x per month for 613 bleached hair to strengthen hair strands and extend the life of the hair.
